Western Australian FINALIST
In a perfect end to what was a remarkable year for Ros, she was honoured last November to become a state finalist in The Australian of The Year Awards. Ros attended a stylish early evening ceremony in the grounds of Government House where the winners were to be announced in front of a crowd of over 600 people.
The Senior of the Year, Young Australian of the Year and the Local Hero awards all went to truly inspiring role models. The competition for the main award was of the highest calibre, with Ros up against Janet Holmes a Court and two Nobel Peace Prize winners, all vying for the prestigious title of Western Australian of the Year.
After much anticipation the high profile Perth scientists Professors Barry Marshall and Robin Warren scooped the top award. The evening was a true celebration of the great spirit of our country and those people in our community who have through their work made a huge difference to the lives of others.
It was another incredible milestone for Ros who felt privileged and humbled to be recognised as someone who is inspirational and makes us proud to be Australian.
