Giving Breast Cancer the Boot

With the aim to educate our eastern states partners, Ros engaged an audience at Engineers Australia, speaking about her personal experience with breast disease and the importance of early detection.

The event was aptly titled 'Giving Breast Cancer the Boot' in alliance with Engineers Australia, BCF of WA and Steel Blue's Purple Boot Campaign. As Founder and Patron of the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA, Ros knows only too well the importance of awareness of breast cancer. Great feedback was received from the audience and it also helped in strengthening the relationship with these companies for the future.

"I think the reaction from the audience confirmed that you addressed a number of key issues - not only relating to managing an illness like breast cancer but also personal leadership, crisis management and motivation."

Alison Coe, Executive Director Engineers Australia Victoria Division

"Ros is an absolute inspiration and was so well received by all of our members at the September, 2006 meeting. Her strength through such adversity touched each and every one of our members in attendance. Personally, I have shared a similar experience having also lost a husband to suicide... traumatic in itself but to hear all that Ros has dealt with makes my experience in life pale into insignificance. She is a wonderful inspiring and down to earth person. I will be passing on her message to as many people as I can."
